Gold plating is widely used to ennoble ornamental objects, in this case thin coatings are used that are sufficiently protective.

The treatment of the piece began with a preliminary cleaning of the piece and an acid degreasing. To ensure greater durability to abrasion, handling and to atmospheric agents, and to prevent the appearance of stains, the surface was coated with an intermediate layer of nickel before and after copper plating. The piece was then dried and finished with gold plating.
